Nicolai Meinshausen is Senior Fellow and Head of Principal Research at Citadel Securities. He is responsible for leveraging state-of-the-art statistical analysis and machine learning research to further optimize trading across numerous asset classes.
Nicolai also serves as Professor of Statistics at ETH Zurich, where his research focuses on causality, high-dimensional data and machine learning. Before that, he was Professor of Statistics at the University of Oxford and a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of California at Berkeley.
He is the recipient of the 2016 COPSS Presidents Award, which recognizes individuals under the age of 41 who have made outstanding contributions to the field of statistics. He also received the Medaillon Lecture by the IMS in 2015, the Royal Statistical Society’s Guy Medal in Bronze in 2011, and was elected as fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics in 2016.
Nicolai earned his bachelor’s degree in physics and PhD in mathematics from ETH Zurich and a master’s degree in applied and computational mathematics from the University of Oxford.
