Overview

Job Description
Fundamental research analysts work closely with the trading team, using superior processes, data and intuition to forecast the first, second and third moment of a security’s price distribution around thematic and idiosyncratic events. Fundamental research analysts refine forecasts into actionable trade ideas.
Objectives:
  • Develop in-depth fundamental knowledge of a sector or industry, as well as broad base knowledge of financial markets 
  • Identify pricing inefficiencies and collaborate with traders to monetize predictions 
  • Identify new sources of data and transform unstructured data sets into signals
  • Own the information space you work within (i.e. large-cap tech) by monitoring trends in the marketplace
  • Employ holistic approach to predicting distribution of outcomes and making volatility predictions
Skills & Talents:
  • Bachelor’s, master’s or PhD in economics, commerce, applied math, engineering, computer science or related disciplines required
  • A strong interest in financial markets and a desire to learn about the fundamentals that drive them
  • Ability to think about the world systematically and quantitatively, as well as the ability to deal with uncertainty in a rigorous and statistical approach
  • Intermediate experience with programming, especially Python
