How Rushi Amin Supports Global Education Through Christel House
Born in the town of Dehgam, Gujarat, Rushi Amin was fortunate to have a mother who deeply valued holistic education and made the difficult decision to educate him at a residential school nearly 300 kms away, starting in kindergarten. That early exposure to high-quality education changed the course of his life and continues to shape how he thinks about education today.
“Education broadens your perspective,” he says. “It helps you break generational patterns, creates financial opportunity, and gives you the confidence to take risks and bet on yourself. That’s why Christel House’s mission resonates deeply with me – it gives children who might not otherwise have access to holistic education the opportunity to realize their potential and believe in themselves.”
Rushi works in Post Trade Engineering at Citadel, focusing on cross-functional initiatives. Alongside that work, he supports Christel House, an international nonprofit that helps students living in underserved communities achieve upward economic mobility through educational opportunities and support from elementary education through secondary. Established in 1998, the organization operates schools in India, Mexico, South Africa, Jamaica and the United States, serving more than 7,000 students annually and supporting more than 30,000 students and alumni through its network.1 Its model combines education with holistic health, nutritional and career support designed to help students achieve long-term success across all facets of life. 97% of Christel House graduates are either employed, enrolled in post-secondary education, or both within five years of completing high school.
Rushi joined Christel House in 2025 as part of a small, expansion-focused cabinet that meets regularly to support the organization’s growth as it seeks to expand its operations into Nepal and Colombia and build five new schools by 2028. His role centers on expanding the organization’s network of support by fostering corporate partnerships, increasing awareness of the mission and advising on strategic growth initiatives.
Rushi’s interest in nonprofit work began while he was a student at New York University Stern School of Business, where he participated in the school’s Board Fellows program. Over two semesters, he worked with a non-profit, Concern USA, and gained exposure to how boards make decisions, raise funds and translate their missions into tangible impact.
When Citadel’s Community Leaders program launched, it encouraged him to continue that impact-focused work with additional support from the firm. “I was honored to participate in the program,” he says. “It provides an incredible opportunity to work alongside passionate people, support organizations creating meaningful change, and contribute to causes you deeply care about.” Inspired by the opportunities education created in his own life, Rushi remains committed to helping more children access the same foundation for success through Christel House’s mission – “every child deserves a seat at the table of life.”
