Civic Leadership / Community Impact: Christian Dungl Is Helping to Advance Cancer Research Through the Dolphins Cancer ChallengeCommunity Impact: Christian Dungl Is Helping to Advance Cancer Research Through the Dolphins Cancer Challenge
Upon relocating from Hong Kong to Miami, Christian Dungl, COO for the Office of the President at Citadel Securities, enrolled in the firm’s Community Leaders program, which supports team members serving on nonprofit boards, to find a meaningful way to contribute his expertise and engage with his new community.
The Civic Leadership team connected Christian, a longtime advocate for advancing cancer research and care, with the Dolphins Cancer Challenge (DCC).
DCC is a partnership between the University of Miami Health System and the Miami Dolphins that raises critical funding for the University of Miami’s Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in South Florida.
After meeting with the team and learning about DCC’s impact, Christian knew it was the opportunity he was looking for. He joined the DCC Board of Advisors earlier this year.
“Sylvester plays a leading role in defeating cancer and providing world-class care for patients in South Florida,” Christian shared. “I am honored to support Sylvester’s life-saving treatments and care through my board service with the Dolphins Cancer Challenge.”
Christian supported the organization as it prepared for its annual signature DCC event on February 22. An avid cyclist, Christian participated in the 54-mile Zach Thomas Ride, just one of many cycling, running and walking activities organized for this year’s DCC event.
