Tony Xiaodong Tang is Head of China for Citadel Securities, responsible for the development and execution of the firm’s long-term business strategy in China.

Tony joined Citadel Securities from BlackRock, where he spent four years as Head of China. Tony was previously CEO of the international business of GF Securities, a leading Chinese full-service investment bank and CEO of China Asset Management Company, one of China’s largest asset managers. Tony also held a number of senior roles at the Chinese Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) from 2009 to 2014, during which time he was credited with driving initiatives to significantly increase global capital inflows to China. Earlier in his career, Tony worked at a number of leading financial services firms in the US, including RBS Greenwich, ANB Amro and JPMorgan.

Tony is currently a member of the Dean’s Council at University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He was Vice-Chairman of International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO)’s Investment Management Committee and Vice-Chairman of Asset Management Association of China (AMAC).

Tony received his BS in Physics from the University of Science & Technology of China, a Dual MS in Physics and Computer Sciences from Drexel University and an MBA from University of Chicago.
